Licensing that fits
how you sell.

Start with a trial, offer annual access or sell a perpetual licence. Each product can have its own terms, feature set and activation limits.

Trials and licence terms
Give customers time to evaluate your software, set a renewal date or offer a perpetual licence. Reusable policies keep the terms consistent across each product.
Editions and add-ons
Decide which features a customer can use. Assign entitlements to a whole edition or an individual licence, and update them when a customer upgrades.
Device and floating licences
Tie access to a particular machine, allow several devices or share a pool of activations. Machine fingerprints and heartbeat checks help your application enforce the limits you choose.

For software that
works offline.

Some customers work on restricted networks. Others need their software to keep running when a connection drops.

Unlock issues signed licence and machine files that your application can verify locally. You control how long they remain valid and when they need to be renewed.

About offline licence changes

The details behind
every licence.

When a customer replaces a laptop, you need to know which licence they hold and where it is already active. Unlock keeps that information together, so your team can help them get back to work.

For your team

Find a customer’s licence, see when it last checked in and review its activated machines. Issue, renew, suspend or reinstate access from the console.

For your application

Use the API to validate keys and manage activation. Connect licensing to your checkout and billing, with signed responses and webhooks your integration can verify.

Integration

How Unlock fits into your software and the systems around it.

What does our application need to do?

Your application calls the Unlock API to validate a licence and manage activation, then applies the access and feature rules returned. For offline use, it verifies a signed licence or machine file locally. We can talk through the integration for your application and licensing model.

Can we keep our existing billing system?

Yes. Your checkout or billing integration can issue and renew licences through the API, while signed webhooks notify your systems of licensing events. Payments stay with your billing provider. The integration needed depends on the systems you use.

What happens when an offline licence changes?

An offline installation continues to use its signed file for the validity period you set. It receives a new suspension, renewal or feature change when it reconnects or the customer installs an updated file. You choose the validity period and renewal process to suit your customers.
